Lance Cpl. Nicholas C. Jansen, generator mechanic with Georgian Liaison Team for Regimental Combat Team 7, Regional Command Southwest, is charged with the duties of a Marine above his grade. Operating as the unit’s utilities chief, a billet usually reserved for a staff noncommissioned officer, Jansen ensures not only the generators are up and running, but he also repairs air conditioners, refrigerators, fixes general electric problems and various other issues that arise.
