Braven Canibog takes part in Ho'okupu, the offering of gifts, during the Kapuakaikaula Makahiki November 18, 2023, at Rainbow Bay Marina near Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. Canoes are an important part of the Makahiki and add to the festive atmosphere by providing a traditional means for the image of Lono, the deified guardian of agriculture, rain, health and peace, of arriving at the ceremony.
