The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District orchestrated a heritage run through downtown Pittsburgh, Pa. Led by Brig. Gen. Mark Christopher Quander and Col. Nicholas Melin, the event threaded past iconic landmarks, including a series of military memorials honoring the sacrifices of veterans from the Korean, Vietnam, and World Wars. The procession also celebrated Pittsburgh's storied legacy as the "City of Champions," passing by monuments to its professional baseball and football achievements. The run not only paid homage to the city's rich past but also fortified the esprit de corps among the district's civilian workforce and military officers on Nov. 9, 2023.
