NMRLC reserves unit personnel practiced deploying a 3 to 1 Expandable, Hard-Sided Shelter used as an operating room, among other applications, in the Navy’s Role III EXMED platforms. NMRLC active duty Hospital Corpsman Petty Officer 1st Class Fedrick Sindore helps NMRLC Engineering Design Directorate Collective Protection, Structure, Cold Weather expert Willis McHenry, demonstrate the proper opening of a folding wall of the hard-sided shelter.
NMRLC Reserve Component personnel completed their active duty training and orientation by deploying a 3 to 1 Expandable, Hard-Sided Shelter used as an operating room, among other applications, in the Navy’s Role III Expeditionary Medical (EXMED) platforms on Cheatham Annex, Nov. 7. They also practiced deploying a Base-X Tent which has the flexibility to be used in Role II - III Navy EXMED platforms, depending on mission requirements. They also had an opportunity to practice deploying an Air-Supported TEMPER tent used throughout the Navy’s Role III EXMED platforms.
