U.S. Marine Corps Col. Jason E. Burkett, commanding officer, Headquarters Battalion, Marine Forces Reserve and Marine Forces South, serves birthday cake to the guest of honor, Col. Omar J. Randall, deputy commander, Marine Forces Reserve and Marine Forces South, during a cake cutting ceremony celebrating the 248th U.S. Marine Corps Birthday, New Orleans, Nov. 9, 2023. The motivational run started at Crescent Park and traveled along the Mississippi River, through the streets of downtown New Orleans, ending at the National World War II Museum for the cake cutting ceremony.
