    NATO Training Mission Afghanistan

U.S. Marine Corps Col. Scott Arnold, left, commander of Regional Support Command-Southwest, NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan, and Afghan National Army Lt. Col. Shah Wali Zazai, commandant of the Regional Military Training Center-Southwest, sign transition documents during a transition ceremony at RMTC-SW in Helmand province, Afghanistan, Dec. 26, 2012. The ANA took over complete control of RMTC-SW during the ceremony. The facility is the first RMTC in Afghanistan to transition to ANA-control for training, operations and maintenance in the country; it was also the last to be opened in January 2010. A team of advisers from the Danish Army have been training and mentoring the ANA trainers at RMTC-SW since February 2012. A team of advisers from the British Army manned the facility before the Danes’ arrival. (U.S. Army photo by Bill Putnam/Released)
