Lt. Col. Shannon Vickers takes a family photo following a ceremony during which he took command of the 127th Operations Support Squadron at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Michigan, Oct. 13, 2023. The family is standing in front of an A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft. The 127th OSS, known as the Blue Snakes, provides a wide range of supporting functions, such as intelligence, life support equipment and more, to the 107th Fighter Squadron, which flies the A-10 at the base.
