U.S. Army Gen. Darryl A. Williams, the Commanding General of U.S. Army Europe and Africa, and the Commander of NATO's Allied Land Command, shakes the hand of Latvian Armed Forces Col. Oskars Kudlis, the mechanized infantry brigade commander, during a visit to Camp Adazi, Latvia, Sept. 27. Gen. Williams toured the forward operating site, met with Soldiers, and received a comprehensive overview of 3rd Infantry Division Artillery and enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group Latvia operations. DIVARTY is a specialized unit within the 3rd Infantry Division responsible for providing artillery support and coordinating firepower for the division's operations. The 3rd Infantry Division’s mission in Europe is to engage in multinational training and exercises across the continent, working alongside NATO Allies and regional security partners to provide combat-credible forces to V Corps, America’s forward deployed corps in Europe.
