Bill McGovern, Fort Stewart Directorate of Public Works operations and maintenance and lead mold remediation specialist, shows where a barrack room's bathroom ceiling in building 212 has mold after the room was flooded by an equipment failure following a power outage that knocked all four cold-water chillers offline at the installation's central energy plant on Sept. 16. The Soldiers affected by the flooding were moved to new rooms while the remediation is underway. The mold will be cleaned with hydrogen peroxide and the cleaned area painted with epoxy paint to prevent future growth.
