    Grand Rapids, Mich., native Lance Cpl. Jeremy Florespedraza, an engineer with Charlie Company, 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, sits after being presented the Purple Heart Medal. Florespedraza was attached to 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment while deployed to the Sangin District, Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was injured by an improvised explosive device during a clearing patrol in Oct. 2012.
