The home of Marcellus Jones as it stands today at 221 East Illinois Street in Wheaton, Illinois. The home, owned by David and Jennifer Penfield, was open for a tour during the First Shot at Gettysburg commemoration July 1 in Wheaton, Illinois. The first shot fired at Gettysburg was fired by Lt. Marcellus Jones, 8th Illinois Volunteer Cavalry Regiment, which was formed in DuPage County in 1861.
