    Colonel Reginald Trujillo, commander of the 944th Mission Support Group, commemoratively drives David Allwine, an Army veteran and prisoner of war during the Vietnam war, and Airmen from the 56th Fighter Wing, the opening laps of a 24-hour POW/MIA vigil at Luke Air Force Base, Ariz., Sept. 14, 2023. September 15 is National POW/MIA Recognition Day and Allwine was a special guest to help kick off the vigil. Participants ran with the POW/MIA flag for designated time periods for 24 hours while names of unaccounted servicemembers were read and honored aloud by volunteers.
