Mark Alessia, Director of the Illinois National Guard Joint Staff, are joined by Pvt. Mason Patterson, the newest member of the Illinois National Guard, in attendance at the Illinois National Guard’s 300th birthday event in Kaskaskia, Illinois, May 9. Patterson, who will serve as an electrician with an engineer unit based in Sparta, Illinois, leaves for Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, on June 21.
