U.S. Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Tim Deal, saxophonist, U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Africa Band, a native of Urbana, IL, performs during the 80th anniversary of Operation Avalanche, Paestum, Italy, September 8, 2023. Operation Avalanche was the code name for the allied landings near the port of Salerno, that took place on September 9, 1943, as part of the allied invasion of Italy.
