Multinational Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs) assess mission data at Exercise Bright Star 2023, Sept. 9, on Mohamed Naguib Base, Egypt. Exercise BRIGHT STAR 23 is a multilateral U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) command-post exercise, field training exercise and senior leader seminar, held in the Arab Republic of Egypt along with other partner nations. Participation strengthens military-to-military partnerships between U.S. forces and our Egyptian partners in the USCENTCOM area of responsibility, as well as other participating nations. The exercise enhances regional security and stability by responding to modern-day security scenarios.
BRIGHT STAR focuses on continuously improving interoperability throughout the full range of military operations. This exercise is an important symbol of the long-standing relationship between the U.S. military, the Egyptian Armed Forces and other partner nations. (Courtesy photo by Polli Ogilvie)
