An F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to the "Black Knights" of Strike Fighter Squadron 154 is directed onto the catapult by a flight deck director from air department's launch and recovery division prior to launching off the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). Stennis and Carrier Air Wing 9, is on a scheduled deployment in support of the global war on terrorism and maritime operations.
