U.S. Army Sgt. Robert Taylor, squad leader with 5th Quartermaster, 16th Special Troops Battalion, is the non-commissioned officer in charge of packing and securing all of the cargo loads and bundles being tactically airdropped from C-130 Hercules aircraft on Drop Zone Marnewaard, Netherlands during multinational joint exercise Falcon Leap 2023 (FALE 23).
"I definitely recommend this job to anyone looking to join the Army," said Taylor. "Not everyone is selected to come here. When you get selected they expect you to perform and conduct yourself in a professional manner. Being airborne in this job especially gets you into special schools to include Pathfinder and Freefall, but a lot is expected of you. This operation is a very special moment in history and we get to commemorate Market Garden after Falcon Leap."
He has an 8-year-old daughter named Lauren that he misses and loves very much, and he hails from Atlanta, Georgia.
Falcon Leap 23 is a Royal Dutch Military led, multinational, joint technical airborne exercise designed to enhance interoperability of participating NATO airborne forces and aircrews in personnel and equipment parachuting operations in Arnhem, Netherlands from 02-17 September 2023. Falcon Leap is NATO’s largest technical airborne exercise which will also include ceremonies commemorating the 79th anniversary of Operation Market Garden. (U.S. Army photo by Spc. Samuel Signor)
