Marcelo Kanitz Damasceno, Brazilian Air Force commander, to visit members of the Brazilian Armed Forces training with New York Guardsmen in Joint Exercise Tapio at Campo Grande Air Base, Campo Grande, Brazil, Aug. 24, 2023. Brazil and the New York Guard were paired in the Department of Defense National Guard State Partnership Program in 2019 and about 100 Guardsmen with the New York National Guard’s 106th Rescue Wing participated in the combat search and rescue exercise.
