Hull Technician 2nd Class Robert Sipplin, an instructor in the Desert Sailor hazardous materials response course, demonstrates one of the many sensors used to detect hazardous chemicals. Desert Sailor is a two-week exercise for U.S. Sailors and Marines and with their Bahraini counterparts. The exercise consists of training in chemical and biological decontamination, hazardous material containment, firefighting and rescue operations.
