Aaron Brown, Military Officer for the Mega Projects Division of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, explains aspects of the Coastal Texas Project at the Galveston District’s Summer 2023 Stakeholder Partnering Forum (SPF) at Moody Gardens Convention Center in Galveston, Texas, Aug. 23, 2023. This SPF’s theme is “Nexus of Communities and Flood Risk Management.” The Galveston District conducts semi-annual SPFs with non-federal sponsors, customers and agency partners to collaborate on best practices regarding programs ranging from ecosystem restoration to flood risk management, maintaining and improving Texas coastal navigation systems, and regulatory oversight of U.S. waters.
