Shawn Teutsch, dental officer, reads a letter from Dental Corps leadership during a celebration of the Dental Corps’ 111th birthday in the dental clinic aboard the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), in the Philippine Sea, Aug. 20, 2023. The Dental Corps was established Aug. 22, 1912 by an Act of Congress. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, as well as the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
