Jason Wilkes assigned to the Joint Multinational Readiness Center, Grizzly team, prepares his bench press for the 1000 pound club tryouts at the Hohenfels Gym, in Hohenfels, Germany, Aug. 19, 2023. Every three months U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria, Hohenfels hosts an “1000 Pound Club” tryout event where athletes on post will benchpress, back squat and deadlift their maximum weights for the sum of at least 1000 pounds, the athletes who accomplish this feat win a shirt, a photo on the gym wall and bragging rights.
