A family member registers for the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency's (DPAA) Korea/Cold War Annual Government Briefings in Arlington, Va., Aug. 16, 2023.
The panel of three was able to answer questions to media outlets prior to the official start of the briefings. DPAA and various media outlets worked together to provide accurate and up-to-date information to the families of service members and public.
Personnel from DPAA met with more than 500 family members of U.S. service members who went missing during the Korean or Cold War. The agency held briefings that discussed government policy, remains recovery operations and methods of identifying remains as well as providing one-on-one, case-specific, detailed information to family members.
