CAMP LEMONNIER, Djibouti (August 9, 2023) U.S. Soldiers assigned to the 294th Engineering Support Company refill a hole with concrete after a sample was extracted during an airfield assessment at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, August 9. The Air Force Civil Engineer Center’s Airfield Pavement Evaluation Team analyzed pavement samples from Camp Lemonnier’s airfield to determine the stability of the taxiways, flight line, and tarmacs for the variety of aircrafts that operate from CLDJ to conduct operations throughout the Horn of Africa. CLDJ is an operational installation that enables U.S., allied, and partner nation forces to be where and when they are needed to ensure security in Europe, Africa, and Southwest Asia.
