230815-N-DB921-1631 NAVAL BASE GUAM, Guam (Aug. 15, 2023) Sailors from USS Manchester (LCS 14) conduct an aircraft fire fighting drill with embarked MQ8-C Unmanned Aerial Vehicle in coordination with Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technicians assigned to EOD Mobile Unit 5. During this training, USS Manchester “Hotsuitmen” conduct overhaul, check for hot spots, and extract simulated personnel during an aircraft fire fighting drill. This training enhances proficiency in aircraft ordnance disposal procedures. Manchester is the 12th littoral combat ship to enter the fleet and the seventh of the Independence variant.
