Sergeant Major Karl Simburger, the 1st Combat engineer sergeant major, calls off the names of the three fallen Marines during a memorial ceremony here at Camp SanMateo, Dec. 6, 2012. This tradition has been maintained to honor fallen comrades who have been killed in action. The service was held for Cpl. Alex Martinez and Lance Cpls. Steven P. Stevens and Alec R. Terwiske, who were killed during combat operations in Afghanistan.
