Master Sgt. Ken Ford, retired, a Hickam Field survivor of the Dec. 7, 1941, attacks, salutes during the nation anthem at the 71st Remembrance Ceremony only a few yards away from where he was when the Japanese began their attacks on Hickam Field, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, Dec. 7, 2012. The remembrance ceremony hailed and commemorated the actions of the service members and civilians that responded to the attacks, many giving their lives in the line of fire for their country. Hickam Filed lost 189 airmen and civilians while more than 300 were wounded. Ford served in WWII, Korea War and in Vietnam during his 26-year military career. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt.
