Alaska Air National Guard pararescuemen assist a simulated Marine survivor during Exercise Mojave Viper in March 2012. The Alaska Air National Guard’s 210th, 211th and 212th Rescue Squadrons participated in the exercise with the 3rd Battalion 8th Marines, Camp Lejeune, N.C., before they deployed together to Afghanistan. The exercise prepared both forces for real-world combat in Afghanistan and assisted them in saving 226 lives from late May to October 2012. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Cynthia Spalding)
