Charlie Battery's Annual Training in Tunisia, Africa

U.S. Soldiers assigned to Charlie Battery, 1st Battalion, 107th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 28th Infantry Division, Pennsylvania National Guard emplace their M119 105 mm howitzer weapons during their annual training in Exercise African Lion 23 (AL 23), May 27, 2023 at Ben Ghilouf Training Area, Tunisia. AL 23 provides an opportunity to conduct realistic, dynamic and collaborative readiness training in an austere environment that intersects multiple geographic and functional combatant commands including U.S. Africa Command (USAFRICOM), U.S. European Command (USEUCOM) and U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM). 18 nations and approximately 8,000 personnel participated in AL 23, USAFRICOM's largest annual combined, joint exercise that took place in multiple countries, including Tunisia, from May 13 - June 18, 2023.
