Bravo Company, Medical Readiness Brigade, National Capital Region (MRB, NCR) held a change of command in Clark Auditorium at Walter Reed on July 23. The company’s guidon (flag) passed from U.S. Army Maj. Matthew J. Kobe to U.S. Army Capt. Anye L. Walker. Army Col. Kevin J. Mahoney, MRB, NCR commander, officiated the ceremony.
Walker was born in Bad Kreznach, Germany and earned her bachelor’s degree in health care administration from Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina where she earned her commission as a second lieutenant from its ROTC program. She comes to the MRB, NCR after service as the human resource officer for the 14th Field Hospital, 44th Medical Brigade at Fort Stewart, Georgia.
Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Alpha Company, Bravo Company, and Charlie Company are part of the MRB, NCR, formerly Troop Command, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. MRB, NCR ensures operational readiness for all Army Medical Department (AMEDD) personnel assigned or attached to Walter Reed, the Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center (formerly Fort Belvoir Community Hospital), the Pentagon Health Clinic and the Joint Pathology Center, with a focus on providing a responsive battlefield force supporting the day-to-day operations at the facilities.
