(GAETA, Italy) U.S. Navy's Military Sealift Command (MSC) USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20) hosts U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) cadets as they train for service in the U.S. Merchant Marines. USMMA educates individuals who are interested in the national security, marine transportation, and economic needs of the U.S., and cadets are required to complete at least 365 days at sea to be able to take the U.S. Coast Guard License exams.
