Ty Piercefield, both pilots with the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, fly a WC-130J Hercules aircraft during a weather reconnaissance mission Oct. 29, 2012, over the Atlantic Ocean near the U.S. East Coast. The aircraft's crew was tracking the movement of Hurricane Sandy as the storm neared the New York City and New Jersey areas.
