U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Shayna Moucheron, right, an air traffic control officer with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Rein.), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, coordinates with Lance Cpl. Kevin Dull, center, an air traffic control communications technician, and Sgt. Joseph Abrajano, a transmissions systems operator, both with VMM-265 (Rein.), 31st MEU, to receive tasking during a communications check at Shoalwater Bay Training Area, Australia, July 4, 2023. Continuous communications allowed the Marine Air-Ground Task Force to coordinate a forward arming and refueling point, a combat support service area, and a defensive perimeter within an expeditionary advanced base of operations. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
