Kosovo Force (KFOR) Commander, Italian Maj. Gen. Angelo Michele Ristuccia, presides over a Transfer of Authority of KFOR Regional Command-East between Col. Chris Mabis and Col. This ceremony signifies the transfer of authority from the 76th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT) from Indiana to the 56th IBCT from Texas. KFOR remains fully focused on the daily implementation of its mandate – based on the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 – to ensure a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all the people living in Kosovo.
