U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Bryce Semonian, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) recovery team explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) technician, performs a metal detection sweep in a rice paddy during a recovery mission in Quang Binh Province, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, May 15, 2023. The team’s EOD technicians performed metal detection sweeps both before and after digging in an excavation unit. They also cleared any areas that were needed for building structures on site, like the wet screening station and life support investigator (LSI) station.
