Master Chief Fire Controlman Thomas Ward and Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class Terry Matlock place a continious service certificate from 1887 on a Naval History display table set up for the Navy's birthday celebration on the mess decks of the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6). Bonhomme Richard, commanded by Capt. Daniel Dusek, is the lead ship of the only forward-deployed amphibious ready group and is currently participating in Amphibious Landing Exercise (PHIBLEX) with the armed forces of the Philippines.
