The Department of Sanitation of the city of New York is working 24 hours a day to clean the state and help with the recovery efforts from Hurricane Sandy. FEMA Individual Assistance Team went to the Department of Sanitation to help workers that were affected get registered for federal assistance. FEMA is working with many partners including federal, state, local and tribal governments, voluntary faith-based and community-based organizations along with the private sector to assist residents impacted by Hurricane Sandy.
