ALASKAN GULF (May 13, 2023) The Chiefs Mess prepares pizzas in the galley onboard landing dock ship, USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49), for the crew as the ship sails through the Alaskan Gulf in support of Exercise Northern Edge 2023 (NE23-1). NE23-1 is one in a series of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command exercises designed to sharpen the joint forces’ skills; to practice tactics, techniques and procedures; to improve command, control and communication relationships; and to develop cooperative plans and programs.
