Pruitt joined the National Guard for the education benefits, earning a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology at Rogers State University, along with his graduate certificate from the University of Florida College of Medicine.
His love of health care encouraged Pruitt take the path of the National Guard and his current occupation. Competing in multiple competitions and events has allowed him to develop his job knowledge and Soldier skills.
“I’ve been to Airborne, Air Assault [courses], competed in the Best Medic Competition and the Best Warrior Competition,” said Pruitt.
Pruitt plans to continue serving in the Oklahoma National Guard until retirement.
“Join for the right reasons,” said Pruitt, giving his advice to the next generation of Soldiers. “To join for the wrong reasons, you will not enjoy it.
