Capt. Kenneth Collins, commanding officer of the United States Navy Band, introduces a Make A Wish Foundation recipient to U.S. Navy Band sound engineers Musicians 1st Class Steven Van Dyne and Randall Smith prior to the June 6 Concert on the Avenue performance in Washington, D.C. The young man’s wish to see a live Navy Band Concert brought him to the nation’s capitol where he met members of the Navy Band, the Navy Ceremonial Guard, Secretary of the Navy, the honorable Carlos Del Toro, and other distinguished government and military officials and naval attaches who gathered for the band’s performance. Navy Band performances inspire patriotism, elevate esprit de corps, honor veterans and connect millions of Americans with their Navy.
