NORTH MACEDONIA - Meet North Macedonian Lieutenant Ilhan Baftiroski, an officer with 1st Company, 4th Infantry Battalion. Baftiroski supported a community event in Kavadarci, North Macedonia. The display highlights military vehicles and equipment from the United States, North Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro. The public were allowed to handle the gear and get up close and inside some of the vehicles, as well as meet many of the troops to take pictures.
“We have a presentation of vehicles, of CBRN gear, and special forces gear,” said Baftiroski. “It's good for the community to see what we have, and what we are capable of in different situations.”
This event was special to Batfiroski because seeing the children interacting with soldiers reminds him of when he first became interested in the military. “When I was a kid I wanted to be in uniform. I always liked to see the soldiers training and work with the weapons,” said Baftiroski.
A native of Kicevo, North Macedonia, Baftiroski joined the military at age 18 and spent four years in the military academy. After graduating he became an infantryman with the North Macedonian Army.
