Norfolk, Va. (June 6, 2023). Sailors assigned to the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) are pictured in groups waiting to enter the Hampton Roads Naval Museum for a mass promotion ceremony aboard the decommissioned Iowa-class battleship USS Wisconsin (BB 64). 120 Sailors assigned to Iwo Jima were promoted this morning during a ceremony on Wisconsin’s fantail. The ceremony was hosted and coordinated by the Hampton Roads Naval Museum, which is one of ten U.S. Navy museums reporting to the Naval History and Heritage Command.
