Jay Heitink and his wife, Sarah Heitink, to the air station after a relief and appointment ceremony on MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina, May 23, 2023. The historic post and relief ceremony is a time-honored tradition within the U.S. Marine Corps. The ceremony serves as the official changeover between Sergeants Major, honoring the outgoing Sgt.
