U.S. Marine Corps Master Sgt. James C. Orton, the Prior Service Recruiting Station 6 chief, awards Pvt. Andrew T. Johnson his Eagle, Globe, and Anchor at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina, May 20, 2023. Orton presented his EGA to his son Johnson during the ceremony concluding the Crucible, the 54-hour culminating event of Marine Corps recruit training, officially becoming a U.S. Marine.
