A six inch hose drains water into the Atlantic ocean Nov. 11 at Breezy Point, N.Y. Army quartermaster units from Pennsylvania, Florida and North Carolina combined their capabilities to channel water from affected areas out to sea. Army Reserve soldiers conducting water removal operations as a result of Hurricane Sandy in Breezy Point, N.Y., have helped hundreds of local residents here by getting the water out. The Army Reserve units are deployed to the area under the National Defense Authorization Act 2012 and are in direct support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, state and local officials.
