The unit, in coordination with members of U.S. Navy Cargo Handling Battalion-1 and 34th Infantry Division of the Minnesota National Guard, conducted port operations, unloading approximately 200 pieces of rolling stock from the Arc Integrity, an American Roll-on Roll-off Carrier in support of exercise Immediate Response, one of three linked exercises in the Defender Europe series.

Immediate Response 23 takes place 22 May – 2 June and begins with the deployment of a combat credible force consisting of the Minnesota National Guard’s 34th Infantry Division Headquarters, an Infantry Battalion Task Force, and other enablers from the U.S. to Europe. After completing reception, staging, and onward movement (RSOM), the units draw equipment from Army Prepositioned Stocks, and conduct multi-national combined arms training in the Balkans. Counties participating in Immediate Response include: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Slovenia, and the United States. Immediate Response includes approximately 2,800 U.S. and 7,000 multi-national participants takes place primarily in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Slovenia.
