U.S. Air Force Col. Samuel Todd, 3rd Wing vice commander, provides a 3rd Wing mission brief to Shawn G. Skelly, the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Readiness, at the 3rd Wing Headquarters building at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, May 16, 2023. In her role as the ASD for Readiness, Skelly develops policies and plans, provides advice, and makes recommendations for total force readiness programs, reporting and assessments of readiness to execute the National Defense Strategy.
