Storm water in a residential area, Breezy Point, N.Y. resides within large areas scattered throughout the town as a result of Hurricane Sandy. Many of the residents in the area lost everything they owned as a result of Hurricane Sandy. The 410th Quartermaster Detachment, Jacksonville, Fla. pumped water out of the area and is in direct support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, state and local officials as a result of the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy. The 410th, 431st and 401st Quartermaster Detachments, all Army Reserve water purification detachments, are deployed to pump the water out of areas most effected by the storm.
