Students and faculty from Croatan High School pose with their unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) after it completed a 70 mph flight during the 2023 Ultimate Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Competition held April 22, in Newport. Students representing eastern North Carolina high schools designed UAVs for the competition, which evaluated the speed and maneuverability of their creations. Engineers from Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) coached and assisted each team throughout the process.
