U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. William Barrett and Lance Cpl. Steven Vang, both water support technicians with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, set up a platoon water purification system at Kin Blue, Okinawa, Japan on May 8, 2023. The platoon water purification system provided a drinkable water supply during a range of simulated combat operations and training exercises. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
